Al-Munir Malik of Remarkable Hotels, joins the Best Western GB as a new member of the Board of Directors, appointed following Howard Darking’s, of Abacus Hotels, decision to step down from the Board after over 20 years’ service.

Al-Munir brings to the role a different perspective on the management of a hotel group, as well as a wealth of experience in inaugurating innovative through revenue generating projects for a variety of stakeholders, from shareholders to members.

Thanks to strong business credentials gained through training and industrial experience, Al-Munir has skills in the development of strategy and a knack for building a strong and profitable business base from which his hotels can expand, a philosophy he is keen to bring to the Board.

On his accession to the Board, Al-Munir Malik said: “It is a great honour to be able to join the Board of Best Western, and to be given the opportunity to drive the direction of the brand at a time of great transition for the industry.

“There is great scope within the business to enhance the brand’s value, especially through the use of new technology and areas in which we are already strong like distribution and the loyalty programmes, which we can use to build strong areas of new business.”

Andrew Glover joins Best Western as Head of Revenue Management. Providing a wealth of experience in the hotel industry, Andrew comes with 24 years of experience, having previously worked at Valor Hospitality Europe, a portfolio of multi-brand hotels across the UK.

Looking to challenge and develop his already wide breadth of experience, Andrew will help manage a team of 24, monitoring market performance and providing advice on pricing management. Andrew will also help to implement technology into revenue management, an area he has expertise in and one that will help predict the future demand for Best Western’s portfolio. Andrew’s goal is to roll out this management system across Best Western’s Portfolio within the next 18 months to help drive revenue growth.

Andrew said: “I have always worked in the hospitality industry, starting in my local pub at 14 years old. I have always aimed to grow my career within hotels, and I am really excited to start my next chapter with a brand as renowned as Best Western. I can’t wait to build strong relationships with members and stakeholders to help meet their needs as a business and to continue Best Western’s goal to grow its portfolio.

“I have considerable experience working within Revenue and I can’t wait to implement this new style of working to really help bolster the brands already successful portfolio of hotels.”
