After the hugely successful launch at London ExCeL earlier this year, Green Living Live, in partnership with myenergi debuts at the NEC Birmingham alongside Grand Designs Live from 5-9 October 2022, to showcase the latest innovative new sustainable developments and products, and now features its own dedicated live theatre and advice zone.

The Sustainable Future Theatre live stage will give visitors the opportunity to gain valuable knowledge and advice first hand from a host of inspirational experts on topics such as how to plan an eco-build or refit a house, advice on how to heat the home in a cost-effective way, how to source sustainable furnishings, as well as advice tailored to every project.

Taking to the stage is British designer, upcycler, entrepreneur, and TV presenter Max McMurdo who joins forces with IKEA to highlight ways to reduce waste by upcycling and innovative ways to reduce bills for winter. On Thursday 6th in the afternoon, Max will showcase clever ways to transform old IKEA into exciting IKEA, and on Friday join him as he demonstrates how you can create a cost-effective home through the winter months.

Visitors will also see James Walsh, CEO of StudioAnyo Architects, present a variety of educational talks including Designing for Climate Change and facing the challenges for a better future, and No Bills – The Cost of Moving to Carbon Zero; and Petina Julius who hosts talks on Biophilia Design. Biophilia translates as ‘a love of nature’ and Petina delves into the innate connection we all have with the natural world; a bond so deep that natural environments have a scientifically proven impact on our well-being. As a biophilic expert, Petina’s designs incorporate principles that stimulate positive connections with interior spaces.

The Green Living Advice Zone powered by OVO Energy, is a dedicated feature area focusing on nine pillars of wisdom to decarbonise your home. There will be experts available throughout the show to answer questions about insulation, heat pumps, smart meters, solar PV, EV charging, and much more to help consumers find the best solutions for their home. Visitors will be able to pre-book or rock up to FREE advice sessions with experts in each topic, covering whole house retrofit.

Across the rest of Green Living Live, the show is dedicated to bringing innovative and exciting new developments in sustainability with unrivalled education and insight into eco-friendly products and services from companies that put sustainability at the heart of their business.

Kevin McCloud’s popular Green Heroes will be displayed within Green Living Live with a brand-new selection of the most revolutionary, useful eco-friendly gadgets and products on the market selected by Kevin himself. Also popular at the London event, the GREEN GRADS, an ongoing initiative to platform UK graduates who are engaging with eco-issues such as sustainability, will be presenting their ideas for a greener and cleaner future with a mix of ‘green’ products, installations, and films that portray sustainability, biophilia, and biodiversity. Look out for the innovative central bar area art installation that the Grads are working on using recycled carpet from the last show.

Green Living Live will bring together a host of brands and expertise covering all aspects of eco-home as well as personal transport. Visitors can find products such as eco building materials, insulation, heating and renewable systems, furnishings, and electric car-charging equipment with hundreds of brands on show including Tata Steel – Catnic, Ripple Energy, Cocobolo, Kensa Heat Pumps, and myenergi.

Visitors to Green Living Live can also access Grand Designs Live and immerse themselves in a fascinating line-up of talks that will take centre stage across each day of the show on The Grand Designs Magazine Theatre in partnership with ABC+ Warranty. The theatre is an entertaining and informative platform where you can hear from Kevin McCloud, Kunle Barker, and captivating ‘Meet The Grand Designers’ talks on the triumphs and tribulations of households showcased on the current seasons of Grand Designs and The Streets; as well as seminars covering a broad range of home, interior, custom and self-build topics from extensions to sustainability in the building industry, and much more.
