For the third consecutive year, Original Style is excited to reveal their Tile of the Year for 2020 in partnership with leading Interior Designers, 2LG Studio. Sophisticated, sumptuous and classic in design; Deco Tayberry, part of Original Style’s Winchester collection of hand crafted English tiles, is set to be the must-have tile for the upcoming year.

“As interior designers, we approach our projects with one eye on the past and the other on the future. Deco Tayberry is the perfect representation of this motto. Square in format and with an arch motif, this gorgeous tile is a contemporary twist on classic tiling. The real beauty of this tile is reflected in its hand-crafted nature. Designed in-house at Original Style’s factory in Exeter, Devon; Deco Tayberry is the epitome of British design. Each tile is hand crafted by skilled artisans using the age-old screen printing method which, alongside its reactive inks, means each kiln produces a different effect, so no two tiles are the same.

Renowned for their colourful and audacious interior style, Interior designers, 2LG Studio collaborated with Original Style to create a bathroom space for 2020; “When we first saw Deco Tayberry it was clearly unique and we were thrilled to design a setting to best showcase this tile for Original Style. Combining traditional style with modern influences was our primary objective and we achieved this through emphasis on shape and texture. We embedded the Deco Tayberry tiles into an arch formation to accentuate the striking curves of the pattern, incorporating matte concrete walls and accessories to contrast with and enhance the tiles rich glossy glaze. On this occasion, we styled Deco Tayberry in a bathroom but the versatility of this tile lends itself beautifully to a feature chimney breast, a kitchen splashback or even installed within a sitting room alcove” - Jordan Cluroe and Russell Whitehead, 2LG Studio.
